Building Community Through Philanthropy: It's more than just about the money

When we talk about our community, what do we mean? Community can be interpreted in so many different ways - where we live, work, or play. When asked to name a philanthropist, who first comes to mind? It is usually the person or family who made the largest donation to a local capital campaign. Does one need to be wealthy to be a philanthropist? Not when wealth can be defined as an intangible asset. Do we need philanthropists to have vibrant communities? Absolutely!

Building a strong community, however one defines their community, happens through the vision, energy, commitment and involvement of people. People of all ages, insight and income. People who are inspired to do something meaningful for causes that matter to them. Leave this presentation with a new perspective on philanthropy and a renewed belief in how people can do great things in and for their community.
